摘要:In this paper, we introduce a new fingerprint enhancement algorithm which used FFT and Gaussian filter.FFT is applied on a block, of size 32x32 pixel and Gaussian filter is applied in each interconnection ofeach block. This make ridge smoothness and also reduce the “hairy” structure in the ridge when it isthinning. The experimental result shows that the implementation of FFT and Gaussian filter in thepreprocessing stage make less effort in the postprocessing stage and hence the total error rate of theproposed algorithm is very low.
