摘要:Meredith Davis presents a good case for why college rankings exist—the consumer attitudes, the increasing importance of higher education to the economy, the importance of knowledge workers, and increased global competition for both students and academics. Davis presents a well researched and argued reason for why these ranking systems came about, including the irony that academic institutions do not like to be graded themselves, yet when we do well in the rankings, it is the first thing that is posted on our websites.
