  • 摘要:ABSTRACT :In a child development, the cognitive processes that occur within the child willchange in line with the growth and development of the child. Closely related tocognitive development is the development of thinking skills. Around the age of7-11 years old children entered the stage of concrete operational cognitivedevelopment where they can use mental operations to resolve concrete problems(actual). In the concrete operational period is also a time of rapidly developingthe ability to know and master the vocabulary words (vocabulary). But if thesedevelopments are thinking and language barriers have limited the child mustrequire special handling. One of the limitations in these conditions is called theTuna Grahita or mental retardation. Thinking itself is defined as an attempt bysomeone to evaluate information based on certain criteria, the opinion,concluded from the experiences that made a conscious effort to achieve agoal. While language as a define communication system used to communicatewith others through the symbols to express thoughts and feelings conveyedorally expanded into written form. In this case, children's learning capacity,especially tuna grahita such abstract learning and numeracy, writing and readingare also limited. Learning ability tend without understanding or tend to learn byparroting. Tuna grahita child has language mastering. The limitations in thisstudy, researchers wanted to see the picture of thinking and languagedevelopment in children 7-11 years of age who have mental retardation (tunaGrahita, why thinking and language development in children 7-11 years of agewho are retarded mental (Tuna Grahita) like that, the process of thinking andlanguage development in children 7-11 years old who have mental retardation(tuna Grahita). Therefore, researchers used a qualitative approach in order togain a thorough understanding of the phenomenon under study. The researchersalso used the capture technique interview data and observation data using thestudy aids interview guides, observation guides, and a tape recorder to facilitatethe research process. Subjects in the study were mentally retarded children (tunaGrahita) aged 7-11 years. After a study found that the subject 1, subject 1 wasable to explain the meaning of a word, but still need the assistance through thepictures interesting. And also subject 1 was able to give his opinion very well,although still having some problems and the subject could also provideconclusions on the two problems directly, but could not on three issues. 1subject mastery of language is good enough, the subject was familiar with thesounds of words, form the sound of the word into a single word, can make theirown sentences, to give meaning the word, but it was still aided bydrawings interesting pictures and also had good conversations with other people.While the subject 2. subject 2 could explain the good sense of the word, but stillneed help with an interesting picture, can give its opinion, although still having alittle trouble and the subject was able draw conclusions from the two problemsand still have constraints on the three issues .. In the mastery of the language,the subject was familiar sound of the word, could form words from the soundsof language, to construct a sentence correctly, can provide well-meaning wordsand can communicate well to people other.
