摘要：ABSTRACT :The problems of this research are : what are the causes divorce? What are theeffects of divorce for children? And the aims of this research are to describe thecauses of divorce and to describe the effects of divorce for children. Thisresearch uses qualitative descriptive method, which is not using any statisticalprocedures or with other quantification ways. Descriptive method describes thesituation and the condition of the character found in the novel. The methodfocuses on observation to indication, events and actual condition in present time.The use of this method is due to the problem statements objective formulatedand the data are in the form of words. The result of this study shown, that, thereare many causes of divorce that occur inside the story, such as the worsteconomic condition of family and illicit love affair, which are done by husband /wife. Besides, the divorce in this novel is also bringing the negative effects tothe children. The child who becomes a victim of divorce is unwanted by hisstepfather and also the child gets the derision from his friends at school.Moreover, that child will change his behavior that accidentally kills hisstepbrother and his stepsister by himself.
