摘要：ABSTRACT :All American girl is one of Meg Cabots novels, The story is about a girlnamed Samantha Madison who lives in Washington, D.C. She is a sophomoreoutcast at John Adams Preparatory School and only has one friend, Catherine.Sam is a huge fan of Gwen stefany and often laments that she is not more likeGwen. Unlike Meg Cabots Mia Thermopolis in the The Princess Diaries, Samis against popular culture and dyes her entire wardrobe black because she ismourning for her generation. She often feels inferior because her older sister,Lucy, is a cheerleader, and therefore one of the most popular girls in school, andher younger sister, Rebecca, is so intelligent that she takes college-level classesat a special school. Sam also believes she is in love with Lucys boyfriend Jack.Jack is the complete social opposite of big sister Lucy, having an artistic yetrebellious attitude to life claiming that teenagers need to 'fight the system'. Inthis research, writer is interested of a character, namely Samantha Madison, asthe main characters, she has interesting characteristics. The writer encounters anexample of Samanthas psychology that cares ness. The writer is interested todo this research by analyzing the main characters characterization by usingsocial psychological approach and the writer tries to appoint why Samanthaslife change and what psychological factors influence Samanthas life. As theresults, writer find some characteristics of the main character in this novel andseveral factors that influence the main characters life which have relation withsocial psychological theories
