摘要：In this research paper, the writer conducts in translation of a novel entitled TwoGentlemen of Verona taken from William Shakespeare. The writer takes thisstory because it is very interesting to read and is one of the famous novels ofWilliam Shakespeare. The novel Two Gentlemen of Verona tells aboutfriendship and the adventure of two young men, named Valentine and Proteus.They had been close friends since they were children. And they growing uptogether until deepened their friendship. When Valentine decided to leave thecity, many problems comes from their city. Many adventure from Valentine andProteus, they love one woman from their city until they are fighting. Besidesthat, the problems are clearly and they get friendship again. And everyone inMilan was happy. The values from this story are will appear in the heart andmind of readers, it is a good lesson. After translating the novel of TwoGentlemen of Verona, the writer found many problems, such as: idiomaticexpressions, grammatical structures, cultural contexts and situational contexts.Then, to solve the problems the writer analyzes it in order to determine theirmeanings, which are appropriate in the receptor language. The writer uses thetheory of translation and to conducts the research through a translation fromEnglish as the source language into Indonesian as the target language. It makesthe readers understand the novel in Indonesian.
