摘要：In this research the writer wants to translate the short story The speckledBand. This is one of interesting story. That is why the writer selects it to betranslated from English into Indonesian. The speckled Band tells about anelaborately constructed mystery which develops after a young woman has diedmysteriously in her stepfather's home, before her wedding. Helen Stonerconsults the detective Sherlock Holmes about the suspicious death of her twinsister, Julia. Helen Stoner visits Sherlock Holmes for help. Strange low whistlesat night, mysterious clanging, a bell rope without any wires attached, a newventilator, a bed that's bolted to the floor, and the stepfather's collection ofIndian animals might all be related to the death of Julia Stoner. A translation ofThe Speckled Band is needed to fulfill one of requirements for the diplomathree in English Literature.
