摘要：The aims of this research are to describe the English lexical errors made by thestudents in writing English and to explain the causes of the English lexicalerrors. In this research, the writer used a qualitative method. The population ofthis research is the 2nd grade student of Faculty of Letters, GunadarmaUniversity. And the sample is 64 students. The source of the data is thestudents English writing. The result of this research is there are two types oflexical errors which are content word errors and function word errors. Thedominant error is the function word errors 57%, meanwhile the content worderrors 43%. There are two kinds of errors causes which are interlingual errors41% and intralingual errors 59%.
