摘要：The present paper focusses on the various uses of blass instruments at different historical periods. It not only centers on its musical use, but on its communicative function as well, since this type of instruments has often been employed to reach far distant subjects. Evidence for our conclusions has been supplied both by western literary texts and by iconographic representations belonging to different periods of time.
