摘要：The paper develops an analysis bringing primarily a historical overview and a systematic description about the life and work of the contractualist Thomas Hobbes and his philosophy, his influences, outlining the why of his ideas and concepts brought in his writings, and his objectives. The work shows yet how the absolutism posteriorly flows into the liberal State with the thirst for individual rights observed in the growing bourgeoisie.
