摘要：Este artículo presenta algunos elementos sobre los avances logrados en el trabajo de varios años de la Facultad de Enfermería de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, que se aproximan a la construcción del ser y quehacer del profesional de Enfermería. Inicialmente, y a manera de ubicación, se abordan los requisitos para una disciplina y práctica, porque, desde allí, se analizan algunos aspectos fundamentales como la relación interpersonal y el cuidado de enfermería, ejes de la profesión. Finalmente, y respondiendo a los rasgos que caracterizan la imagen y el campo de la enfermera (o), se establecen aptitudes y actitudes que pueden fundamentar su desempeño.ABSTRACTThis article talks about some advances that we have been searching for many years.The nurse's department of the Javeriana University, through intellectual activity seeks the elaboration of different concepts, which are close to building the competence of the humane nurse and their professional behavior. At the beginning, it talks about different concepts as discipline and practice, so we can reflect and analyze some important aspects like the humane being, interpersonal relations and the main concern that the nursing profession works to ward. Finally and answering different aspects of the professional practice, it establish some bases on the job thet the nurses have to carry out day by day.
