摘要：La convivencia con un familiar que es enfermo mental implica un impacto para la familia y, especialmente, para el cuidador principal quien tiene que hacerse cargo de la persona y asumir la realización de tareas que exigen amor, dedicación, esfuerzo y disciplina para mantener el bienestar de su familiar enfermo. A partir de los datos obtenidos en la investigación sobre "Características personales y factores estresantes que experimentan los familiares cuidadores de enfermos mentales", éste artículo presenta las experiencias y el significado que para los cuidadores y sus familias tiene esta convivencia con el enfermo mental y la realización diaria del cuidado. ABSTRACTLive together with a mental patient have to much impact in their family and especially for the principal caretaker, who has to work and do many activities with love, dedication, effort and discipline to support the wellbeing of his familiar. From the results obtained in the titled research "Characteristic personal and estresantes factor that the caretakers of mental patients experience", this text presents the caretakers and their family significant experiences in the daily live care.
