摘要:El cuidado diario de un familiar con enfermedad mental es una labor que demanda tiempo, esfuerzo y dedicación. Los familiares cuidadores requieren de comprensión, ayuda y orientación permanente por parte de los profesionales de la salud para el desmpeño de su rol. A partir de los resultados obtenidos en la investigación titulada "Características personales y factores estresantes que experimentan los cuidadores de enfermos mentales" y con el propósito de aproximarse a la comprensión de quiénes son estas personas, este artículo presenta algunas de las características personales de los cuidadores y del cuidado que brindan a sus familiares con enfermedad mental.
