摘要：Archaeological research in the last decade has contributed to coincidental information that begins to reveal the richness and ups and downs of the Castro culture in Asturias during much of the first millennium b.c. However some opinions that turn to matters of meaning and an alteration sui generis of archaeological documentation attempt to discredit not only a good part of the archaeological record and interpretative inferences but also firmly established historical knowledge and models. In these pages a discourse is planned based on the data obtained during the excavations of the hillforts within the boundaries of the Villaviciosa estuary. This contributes to knowledge of the current state of research, the underpinning of the archaeological sequences and the preparation of interpretative models of this chronological period.
