摘要：An analysis of images of Mexico in the Spanish illustrated magazines from 1834 to 1874. After a theoretical reflection on the possibilities of the use of Nineteenth century illustrated magazines in the reconstruction of collective imagery, statistical and iconographic methods are used to reconstruct the main characteristic features of Spanish imagery about Mexico, the way it was built and the meaning it had at the time.
