摘要：This paper analyses the emergence of Spanish associationism in Uruguay and the evolution of its relations with the peninsular government, specially within the context of the civil war and the Franco regime. The information yielded by the Spanish diplomatic representation in Montevideo is complemented with the «hispanist» discourse in books and journals published within the immigrated community, tending to the setting-up of political and ideological discipline structures.
