摘要：Americo Castro (Cantagalo, Brasil, 1885-Playa de Aro, Gerona, 1974), who authored one of the most important interpretations of the History of Spain, was also founder of the Hispanic Americanist section in the Center of Historical Studies. He sponsored Tierra Firme, the review that proceded Revista de Indias between 1935 and 1938. This article examines the americanist aspects of Castro’s work. The analysis includes the main episodes of his political life, his travels through America and the years of his exile in several northamerican.
