摘要：This work is devoted to examine the economic organization of the agro-energy farm performing activities directed to achieve micro-objectives: improvement of the farm income, risk reduction and macro objectives: energy security, reduction of the environmental impact (GHG emission) by adopting a rural multifunctional development strategy that justify the public policies supporting this type of farm. The work is divided in two parts: in the first one are discussed the strategies of the agro-energy farm in the integrated supply chain. The second part is dedicated to the analysis of the supply chain with individual and cooperative solutions and their implications for the profit distribution to the participants. Four cases are developed to give empirical evidences of the theoretical hypotheses. Suggestions to improve the economic performance and redistribution of profits and risks among the participants conclude this work.
