摘要:Abstract In this paper, we study production control problems under multiple products setting. An application study of control policy for a door manufacturing line at an automotive assembly plant making two distinct types of products is introduced. Using analytical investigations, closed formula for key performance indices are derived and the buffer occupancy are used as control variable to satisfy throughput demand and reduce disruption for downstream production. Sensitivity analysis of such control policies has also been discussed to provide management insights. Using the data collected at plant floor, a discrete event simulation study has been carried out to validate the applicability of the model and control algorithm.
