摘要:Abstract Nonlinearity error is the machining error produced due to the linear interpolation scheme of the five-axis computer numerical control (CNC) machine tool. Two cutter movement modes are introduced to illustrate the nonlinearity error: tool path cutter movement and practical machining cutter movement. With these two cutter movement modes, two envelope surfaces of the milling cutter in five-axis CNC machining are obtained as the closed-form representations. Subsequently, an advanced mathematical model is proposed to calculate the nonlinearity error. The proposed method is illustrated with an example, and the result shows that the proposed method is valid.
