  • 摘要:The foundation of music education is laid in elementary education. In this period, students meet with well planned and organized music education. The aim of this paper is to display how elementary teachers perceive and value music lesson which has been incorporated in elementary school curriculum as two hours at 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades., The current research, moreover, seems crucial in terms of determining how music lessons are applied by elementary teachers and to what extent the course is functional. 47 elementary teachers teaching at 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades from four different elementary schools in İzmit, Kocaeli participated in the study. The data were collected via semi-structured interview questions prepared by the researcher. The data were analyzed and tabled through NVIVO 10 according to qualitative research methods.
