摘要：Apresenta-se o arcabouço teórico-conceitual que fundamenta um modelo, em construção, de análise de aglomerações metropolitanas, em que se contrapõem os conceitos de riscos e amenidades, forças de diferentes polaridades, que influenciam fortemente as tomadas de decisão locacionais da população e, assim, interferem nos processos de distribuição espacial da população e de organização do espaço metropolitano.The main objective of this paper is to briefly present the theoretical and conceptual bases that fun-daments a model – under construction – for metropolitan agglomerations analysis that tries to un-derstand risks and amenities as driving-forces of different polarities that strongly influence the loca-tional decision-making processes of the population and, thus, interfere into the population spatial distribution processes as well into the metropolitan space organization.
