Beyond parliaments, they have been getting important executive offices like ministries, state governments and big city halls. Those conquests become from individual initiatives and from some churches strategies in order to elect and maintain their own representatives. This involvement has frequently been taking place among controversies and scandals. This article, result of a post-doctorate research supported by FAPESP deals with the evangelical participation in politics, focusing electoral process in Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
