摘要：The article retrates the recent trajectory of studies on agrarian history in Brazil, specially as regards the different appropriations of the concept of region. It demonstrates that in order to obtain a more adequate definition of this concept historians have been led to an intensive dialogue with other disciplinary traditions, such as geography and economics. However, as a result of this process, the attempts of a previous definition were abandoned and the prospect was adopted of dealing with the significant regional traits in the framework of the studied realities.
