摘要：Assessing food intake has been considered an important fact by researchers and people working on nutritional guides that are based on food’s production, importation, distribution and consumption. However, there is not a specific method that allows researchers to measure food intake precisely, therefore international organizations are working hard trying to develop methods that let asses accurately food intake and their nutrients for human research. Previous studies about methods to asses food intake has been evaluated and adjusted. therefore to obtain accurate information about food intake, we design a specific method, based on three-dimensional geometric figures food models; and pictures coded and set up in a book, additionally these models were used to collect data of food consumption in the National survey about nutritional situation of Colombia population in 2005 (ENSIN), it made possible to identify nutritional risks and specific nutrient deficiencies.
