摘要：The Sephardic newspaper Ilustra Güerta de Historia was published in Vienna between 1880 and 1882. It was run by Šem Tob Semo, one of the most influential figures of the Sephardic community of Vienna. This newspaper specialized in serial novels, yet it also published pieces of popular culture, in a section entitled “Sala de pasatiempo”. This section included many riddles in Judeo-Spanish, almost completely unknown in Sephardic studies. The aim of this article is to present these Judeo-Spanish riddles, tracing their parallelisms with the Spanish tradition and attempting to establish their possible sources.
